The Eternal Texas Tavern

The Texas Tavern is a land mark forever,
It has endured through all kinds of weather.
The building color of red and white,
Will always hold your attention both day and night.
Friday, February 13, 1930 was a lucky day for everyone,
It's the day hamburgers and chile were served from sun to sun.
Through all its 70 years it has seen happiness and tears,
Sometimes at night there are signs of fears.
But the Texas Tavern has weathered the storm,
Even though it may look slightly worn.
If you have patience of mind,
We can seat 1,000, 10 at a time.
Gerald Williams has little to say,
Til' after his bowl of chile, he gets almost every day.
With Jim Bullington at the helm like a ship at sea,
He'll always be there to serve you and me.
Whether its night or day,
The lost are welcome to stay.
The Tavern with its magnetic personality, brings people from all walks of like,
Once there you'll find it a delight.
You can meet the rich and poor,
Hungry people always asking for more.
It has been called the Roanoke Millionaires Club many times,
For years its bowl of chile could be bought for dimes.
Let us always remember the Texas Taver,
Where all types of people will be there gathering.
Let us remember LN. Bullington, who brough Chile from San Antonio here,
And also brought people of good cheer.
Matt Bullington, 4
th generation has taken over the Texas Tavern position,
He is determined to keep up the Bullington Tradition.
